Our Puppy Dayschool is designed for puppies 8 weeks to 5 months in age.

We HIGHLY recommend that you go through our Puppy Enrollment Process  before leaving your puppy alone for Dayschool. This is in an effort to not needlessly traumatize your puppy by leaving them alone without allowing them time to get used to new people, a new place and new dogs!  For more info on that, please go to our Puppy Services page.

What will my puppy's day will look like?

  • Socialization, socialization, socialization!  It is important for puppies at this age to be properly introduced not only to other dogs, but also people, sounds, textures, and objects.  Our trainers will present these novelties in a positive manner to build a puppy’s confidence and help prevent behavioral issues later in life.

  • Individualized training.  Puppies will work with our trainers on basics such as sit, down, wait, leave it, and loose leash walking.  Dayschool training follows the same curriculum as our Puppy-K class and prepares puppies for the Pet Dog Ambassador Level 1 assessment.

  • Additional life skills training.  Along with the basics described above, puppies will also receive crate training, potty training, mental enrichment games, and handling practice (for visits to the groomer or vet).

  • Rest.  Like young children, puppies need naps to break up their long days of learning and growing!  We ensure that puppies will receive plenty of rest and TLC from our trainers and kennel techs.

  • Pawgress Reports.  More for the owners than for the puppies.  At the end of every day, you will receive a “pawgress” report that includes a write-up from the trainer that worked with your puppy as well as pictures and videos of training and playtime.  This means you’ll get to see how much fun your puppy is having!

BONUS! With the equivalent of 5 hours of Dayschool training, you will receive a FREE private less with a trainer (a $75 value). A trainer will teach you how to continue working on your puppy’s dayschool training at home.  Additionally, if you enroll in Puppy Dayschool, you are eligible for a 10% discount on our Puppy-K class.  We highly recommend supplementing Puppy Dayschool with a Puppy-K class because you build a connection with your puppy as you go through training together.

Adolescents & Adults

To enroll your dog in Adult Dayschool, you’ll need to book a  15 minute "Trainer Call" appointment at our facility.  You will be able to discuss training goals for your dog, and complete the registration process.  If your dog is having behavior issues beyond “needs to work on the basics”, please schedule a 30 minute assessment to make sure Dayschool is the right fit for your dog.

What will my dog's day look like:

  • Individualized training. Based on the training goals you establish during your trainer call, our trainers will work with your dog on things like sit, down, wait, leave it, off, and leash skills.  Dayschool training can focus on specific issues your dog is having or can follow our class curriculum and prepare your dog for various levels of the Pet Dog Ambassador program.

  • Socialization. Your dog will be matched based on size, age, and playstyle with other dogs in the dayschool program.  Under the supervision of a trainer or kennel tech, dogs will be allowed to play appropriately with each other and continue to gain valuable socialization experience.

  • Rest.  Puppies aren’t the only ones who get tired after a long day of training!  We ensure that dogs will have plenty of rest and TLC from our trainers and kennel techs.

  • Pawgress Reports. More for the owners than for the dogs.  At the end of every day, you will receive a “pawgress” report that includes a write-up from the trainer that worked with your dog as well as pictures and videos of training and playtime.  This means you’ll get to see how much fun your dog is having!

Enrollment Procedure

If you are a new client wanting to enroll your dog in Dayschool, here are the three steps to take:

  1. Set up a "Call with a Trainer" appointment. You can expect it to last about 15 minutes. In the mcall we will make sure we have all the necessary information as well as talk about your training goals and answer any questions you may have.

  2. Your dog attends an orientation day at the Boarding & Behavior Center on Sunflower Road at a reduced rate. Depending on your situation that can be a half or a full day. Your dog will not receive any “official” training sessions yet, however we will assess how well he does in group, his stress levels at the facility and just generally get to know each other.

  3. At the end of this first day, our trainer or Kennel Tech Manager will let you know either at pick-up or through your “Pawgress Report”, how the first day went!
